St Vincent’s
Kitchens On The Run kept the kitchens running at St Vincent’s Hospital Toowoomba during its $30m redevelopment.
As the existing kitchens were transformed into new theatre suites, the hospital needed a temporary kitchen solution which could keep patients and staff fed, and which would meet the highest of health standards.
An additional challenge for this project was the temporary kitchen compound needed to be positioning with a small space which could only just house the units. This necessitated six months of planning to arrive at a final layout, and five days of installation. Everything was in place from the first day of the redevelopment.
The site safety plan and SWMS were supplied by Kitchens On The Run, and we also arranged for the building surveyor, engineering and certification approvals.
In total, the temporary compound consisted of:
- Two kitchens
- One coolroom
- One preparation freezer
- One washroom
- Three joining blocks
